June 19-25

We had a good week at Mulberry Hill and made great progress on projects and beds.

Volunteer hours totaled 76 with thanks to Donna, Jeff, Pazoau, Enrico, Lovie, David, Mike, James and Bob.  Contract construction 1099 labor totaled 14.5 hours.

The barn is closer to completion.  We finished the fly rafters and the eaves and put on the felt.  Next up is shingles on the roof, the doors and painting.

Mulched Tomatoes

All of the 128 tomato plants have been pruned and mulched with fresh straw.   48 are now staked.  About a dozen pepper plants have been staked.

We are currently picking lettuce, collard greens, mustard greens, kale, arugula, swiss chard, kohlrabi and turnip greens.

One and done jobs include picking lettuce, kale and greens for the food pantry, placing wood chips between the beds,  straw mulching the cucumbers ,  and trimming of weeds and grass between the beds.

We are in need of a lawn mower.   If you have one to donate or know of someone who does please let us know.

The CIP matching grant total is now at $2345 with $1655 to go and monthly donations currently total $145.  If you can donate $5 per month, that would be greatly appreciated. With Zeffy, our new financial provider, 100% of your donations goes directly to MH and and financial fees are optional.    Many thanks.
