Our goal – To create an open green space in the eastern half of lot 620. This space will be surrounded by multiple gardens and eventually terraced to create level lawns. This space will eventually contain benches, picnic tables, an outdoor amphitheater, and fountains and flowing water. Congregants from CUMC, students, and staff from Neighborhood House’s International Learning Program, neighbors, school groups, and local business groups will be invited to use this space. A goal for each fall is to have a community fair where students will be awarded for their completion of the summer program other celebrations. The fair will have food vendors, barbecue contests, and vegetable and flower arrangement entries for premiums.

Another goal of the garden is to have demonstration beds to provide examples of attractive beds to students and the community. These specialty beds will include a butterfly gardens, annual and perennial beds throughout, pollinator beds, manicured lawn sections, herb and medicinal beds.
